In this two hour workshop, we will explore some of the basic postures, breathing and meditation techniques that make up the practice of Hatha yoga. Students will leave with a basic understanding of proper alignment and technique, and will be prepared for most beginner and all level classes. Yoga is appropriate for just about anyone. You don't need to be flexible or be able to quiet the mind. You simply need the desire to show up and do your best. This workshop is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review the basics. This is a very popular program and almost always sells out. Pre-registration is STRONGLY suggested.

and receive deep rejuvenation from this 3-hour passive yoga practice
with massage, hot stone therapy, and assisted stretching.
We will explore the energetic union of breath and long held passive
asana, complemented by hot stones and aromatherapy massage by
Lauren and masseuse. Treat yourself and a loved one to this

THE YOGA:
Come deepen your yoga practice in paradise with Lily and Lauren! Upon arrival at the exquisite Lumeria Maui, you will have time to explore the serene grounds and get settled into your luxurious room before our opening practice. To help you fully relax into the bliss of retreat mode, our first sunset practice will be Restorative Yoga with healing neck, shoulder, feet and back massage.
Morning practices will be dynamic and invigorating with a time devoted to meditation. Afternoon practices will be sumptuously grounding. Designed to offer much more than a drop-in-class experience, each practice is like a workshop - giving you focused space to learn, deepen and play.
The middle of the day is yours to do as you please: lay around the gorgeous retreat center and read, soak up the sun at a nearby beach, explore Paia, hike, snorkel, surf or swim with dolphins! We will reunite in the afternoon to practice yoga before dinner and then share adventures of the day over a fabulous farm to table meal.

Your stay at Lumeria Maui will combine the traditional with the modern. Beautifully designed Balinese furniture and fluffy pillows combine with iPod docks and artworks from local artists to make each room the perfect place to unwind and escape the warm Hawaiian sun. To walk in the surrounding gardens is to truly walk through paradise. Featuring local fauna and designed under the watchful eye of local Kahunas, many of the plants are edible and feature medicinal properties.
Another feature of the grounds are the gathering areas. Each located to provide wonderful views, where you can meet friends, old and new whilst soaking up the energy of this intensely spiritual location. This Hawaii meditation retreat is the perfect place to relax, unwind and meet new, like-minded friends.
Dining, as you would imagine, is based on the produce from the gardens and surrounding lands. The menu is designed to feature wonderfully fresh and healthy options. Dinner is served in a beautiful dining room with superb ocean views.
YOUR TEACHERS:
Lily and Lauren first met dancing together with the San Francisco based modern dance company, LEVYdance. As dancers, their shared love of movement, embodiment practices, anatomy & kinesiology, creativity, and grace fosters a common ground to their approach as yoga teachers. Lily also brings a background in bodywork and Lauren in Pilates.
Aside from their public vinyasa classes, the two specialize in private sessions and are skilled at guiding clients to adapt the ancient practices of yoga to work for their bodies and needs today.
